Q. Can you still open windows with MagneGlaze® in place?
A. We design a layout so that openers are covered by separate panels. These can be easily lifted off and "parked" on top of an adjacent panel by means of extra magnetic strips. So you won't have a loose panel to worry about while the window is open.

Q. I live near a road/railwayline. How much noise does MagneGlaze® actually reduce?
A. Most people do not think in decibels! But Magneglaze® will have the effect of "muffling" or "baffling" those annoying tyre noises. In extreme cases, it is possible to add a panel to the edge of the reveal to create the optimum gap of 200mm for sound reduction.

Q. Does the acrylic scratch easily?
A. No, most of the time the panels will be in place, so only rough handling will cause any obvious defects. Panels can be easily lifted off for cleaning. An anti-static spray cleaner is provided free of charge with every installation.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. When pricing, we make no distinction between a single or multi-panelled solution. The system looks best when it matches the existing window configuration. It is easier to handle, and if necessary store away, a number of small panels than a single large one.

Opposite attracting magnets are available in various widths. We use 12.5mm for panels up to 1m² and 20mm for larger sizes. The price per square metre fully installed will range from £100 to £120 (inc VAT)., but there are DIY options with appropriate discounts (see 'Q. Can I fit it myself ' FAQ).

There will be an extra charge for colour-matching or fabricating any shape other than a rectangle e.g. A rounded arch.

Q. Can I fit it myself?*
A. The options for installing are:
* N.B. The measuring and installing of the system on sash windows requires a degree of experience and expertise.

1) We install - A first survey visit to gain millimetre perfect dimensions. A second visit to install. Full quoted price.
2) You install* - one survey visit by us to measure. DIY instructions and/or demonstration. Assembled panels delivered to your door. 15% discount.
3) You install* - no survey visit - you supply drawings and measurements. Assembled panels delivered with DIY instructions. 25% discount.

If measurements are provided to the nearest 5mm (i.e. All sizes will end in a 0 or 5) We can supply fully assembled panels cut to size and ready to install. But please remember, without a survey visit, we have to rely on your measurements and will cut to the sizes given. We cannot be held responsible for any measuring errors! Really smart people send digital pictures via e-mail of the windows under consideration. It's then possible to talk through the options and arrive at a solution without a survey visit.
