DIY measuring guide


The magnetic strips are 12.5mm or 20mm wide, depending on size of panel. To get an exact measurement for cutting the plastic you must add 25mm or 40mm to the internal dimensions of the frame to gain an overlap on each edge. There must be a flat shoulder on four sides so the panel is flush all round. Any “window furniture” must be contained in the recess between the inner and outer panes of the window. Please supply measurements to the nearest 5mm.


ESTIMATING THE COST

You can reach a ‘ball-park’ figure by adding together the total area of each window in square metres. The plastic used is 3mm thick. The price per sq. mtr, fully installed by us, will range from £100 - £120 (inc VAT), but there are DIY options with appropriate discounts, as below.
